Robin

The heatspreader is an aluminium part which is used to spread the heat. Or in other words it is the thermal connection from the components to a heatsink. The heatspreader is not a complete thermal solution, but a part of it. Some cases may allow to use a Heatspreader only.

For most of the applications Robin needs a complete thermal solution.

Exceptions can be:

  • A fan is blowing air directly over the Robin module
  • Robin Z510 under some conditions
  • enabled thermal throttling of CPU speed

On Woodpecker thermal management is less critical since the PCB has almost the double size.
