We are pleased to announce the Torizon OS 7.6.2 patch release. This is a Torizon OS patch release for the third-party machines officially supported.

Torizon OS is our operating system that powers Torizon, a DevOps platform that simplifies the development and maintenance of embedded Linux software. Torizon OS is designed to be used out-of-the-box on devices requiring high reliability, allowing you to focus on your application instead of building and maintaining an operating system.

Torizon uses software containers, making it simple to add functionality to your system in a way that is both secure and easy to maintain. Torizon supports hardware acceleration in containers and graphical user interfaces.

Updates and Highlights

Common Torizon

  • Distro updates:
    • Devices can now be pre-provisioned directly into a Torizon Cloud fleet when customizing a Torizon OS image with TorizonCore Builder. Learn more about provisioning devices to fleets.
    • Enabled the Amazon Elastic Network Adapter driver on Common Torizon for x86, providing network support when running Torizon OS on AWS EC2 instances.
    • Added the files required to flash Luna SL1680 with the Synaptics usb-tool.
    • TorizonCore Builder now supports Luna SL1680 and Astra Machina SL1680 images through conversion between the SYNAIMG and WIC image formats.
  • Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed a bug on x86/GRUB devices where a single failed deployment could get stuck rolling back indefinitely, without ever being attempted, at the bootloader stage.
    • Fixed fw_printenv and fw_setenv not working on Astra Machina SL1680.
    • Fixed the Copy Fail CVE-2026-31431 and Dirty Frag CVE-2026-43284 Linux kernel vulnerabilities on Common Torizon for x86, supported Texas Instruments platforms, and Luna SL1680 and Astra Machina SL1680.
    • Fixed the OTA rollback mechanism on BeagleY-AI.
    • Fixed repo sync failures when building Common Torizon for Luna SL1680 and Astra Machina SL1680.

Intended Use

The Torizon OS 7.6.2 patch release is a production-grade release for Common Torizon, including Luna SL1680. It does not cover Toradex's other System on Modules; if you're running one, see the Torizon OS 7.6.1 patch release or a newer quarterly release when available.

Hardware Support

This patch is scoped to Common Torizon on the following hardware:

  • Sample products: Luna SL1680
    • Due to the hardware status being "sample," this release is intended for evaluation and development.
  • Community products: Generic x86_64; AM62L EVM, AM62P EVM, and AM62 EVM from Texas Instruments; BeagleY-AI from the BeagleBoard Foundation; and Astra Machina SL1680 from Synaptics
    • Toradex runs a test suite for Torizon Cloud-related features on these boards and fixes critical bugs. Overall, Torizon support (including containers and IDE) varies for each platform. Contact us to learn more.
