Torizon Demo Gallery - Partner Guidelines

Introduction​

The Torizon Demo Gallery enables one-click deployment of demo applications to Toradex devices provisioned with Torizon Cloud. It lets customers evaluate applications on real hardware with minimal setup, helping partners showcase the performance and compatibility of their applications.

If you are a Toradex or Torizon partner, Toradex invites you to publish your demo in the Torizon Demo Gallery and make it available to joint customers.

How To Get Listed​

You can have your Torizon demo package featured in the Demo Gallery by following the requirements below.

Your application must:

  • Run on standard, unmodified Torizon OS images that are currently supported by Toradex.
  • Include all required software dependencies within the deployment package, without requiring manual installation on the target device.
  • Start automatically on a freshly provisioned device after completing the Quickstart Guide.
  • Clearly indicate in the user interface that the application is running and functioning correctly.
  • Support plug-and-play operation for any required peripherals. If specific hardware is needed, the application UI must clearly identify the supported devices and provide connection instructions.
  • Provide runtime configuration through the user interface whenever user-specific settings are required. Users should be able to configure the application without rebuilding containers, modifying source files, or redeploying the application. Clear guidance for the configuration process should be available within the application.
  • Use only software, assets, models, and dependencies that can be legally distributed and publicly demonstrated. Any third-party licenses, usage restrictions, or attribution requirements must be clearly disclosed.

Package Your Application Using Containers​

Please provide:

  • Docker images hosted in a public container registry, such as Docker Hub or GitHub Container Registry (GHCR). Use a clear and consistent image naming convention, for example: partner-name/demo-name:tag.
  • A docker-compose.yml file that has been validated on a Torizon-supported module and tested through Torizon Cloud deployment.

Toradex strongly recommends using a Torizon base image.

Document Your Demo​

Provide the following details:

  • Demo name and short description.
  • Steps on how to configure/tweak the demo.
  • Required hardware: modules, carriers, and peripherals.
  • Expected behavior and value proposition (what the demo shows and why it matters).
  • Partner logo and links (product page, docs, etc.).
  • Highlight any external dependencies/libraries used in the demo.

The Torizon team then takes over to:

  • Adapt and validate your Docker Compose file in the internal torizon-containers repository.
  • Add basic automated tests on real hardware.
  • Publish the demo in the Torizon Demo Gallery delegation.

After validation, your demo:

  • Becomes deployable from Torizon Cloud with one click.
  • Is listed on the Torizon Demo Gallery web page, showing your logo, description, and links.

Maintenance Expectations​

To ensure a good experience for joint customers, Toradex asks that you:

  • Keep your container images up-to-date and available on your registry.
  • Remember that the Torizon Demo Gallery uses the latest stable image release. Keep your Docker image updated to reflect changes in the Demo Gallery.
  • If there are any major changes, provide a summary with details.

Toradex monitors basic health via automated tests and may:

  • Temporarily hide demos that consistently fail.
  • Contact you to fix compatibility issues or tag changes.
