Product Name

Toradex uses a systematic approach to designate its products, often incorporating key attributes and form factors in the product name. Consider the following general breakdown of how Toradex typically names its products:

  • Module Family: The product name often starts with the module family, such as "Colibri," "Apalis," or "Verdin." These names denote the specific series or family to which the module belongs.

  • Processor Series: Toradex includes the processor series, after the module family name. For example, "iMX6" indicates the module uses an NXP i.MX 6 processor, while "T20" indicates a Tegra 2 processor.

  • Specific Features or Variants: Some product names may include additional suffixes or identifiers that denote specific features, such as memory size or special capabilities. For instance, "512MB" indicates the amount of RAM, and "WB" indicates the presence of wireless connectivity.

  • Environmental Specification: Toradex sometimes includes designations for products built for industrial or extended temperature ranges, such as "IT" for industrial temperature.

For example, in Colibri iMX6ULL 512MB IT:

  • "Colibri" denotes the module family.
  • "iMX6ULL" specifies the processor series.
  • "512MB" indicates the RAM size.
  • "IT" signifies industrial temperature specifications.

Product Change Notification (PCN)

The ordering information relates to the Product Change Notification (PCN): whenever a new product is released to replace an older version, the new product will have an increased value of Product Version and/or Assembly Option.
